- New love for my old Excursion
- Sawzall the old exhaust, just do it and get it out of there! 243k miles on the stock exhaust, I could just about pull it out. Installation was a breeze but as always, the biggest pain is getting the downpipe v-clamp on. That is a two person job for sure. Whole install from start to finish, leak test and all was maybe 2 hours. Expect a shop to quote about 4 hours labor given you never know what you’re getting into with an exhaust install. This kit is really well made and the pieces went together perfectly. No extra trips for hardware or clamps. Everything you need is in the kit. My buddy helping was poised to attack the muffler with a mallet and wooden block, but it slid right in. Gained 3-4 psi under full throttle and the noise is negligible. Couldn’t tell much of a difference on sound but it’s an amazing difference on takeoff.
