- 2005 Ford Crown Victoria CVPI P71. This CAI rocks! I previously installed K&N CAI products on the other 3 CVPIs we had and there is just NO comparison! This tube is metal on this product and it connects securely to the heat shield and filter assembly like a machined parts, not a plastic toy! After much discussion with an aFe representative I choose the oiled version of the filter over the dry since I believe it traps better and I will just replace it rather than do the maintenance thing in a couple of years, even though it will probably last twice as long. We weren't quite sure it would fit but I installed the Helix Power Tower Plus; Throttle Body Spacer at the same time and the assembly and the wiring JUST fit! I don't think it would be different on different vehicles of the same year and model, but who knows, right. So, personally, the entire setup works fine, no codes or anything like that. There is one teensy tiny little thing that kind of irks me ... one of the reasons that I got the "BLUE" oiled filter is that it was BLUE! Now, it's not. Don't know if that's the product telling me the oil is wearing off, the filters getting hot, or it was just a coloring so they could tell the difference between oiled and dry at the factory, but I was going for color. That being said ... who CARES! Go for it, this is the one!
