This was the first mod I have done to my 2018 Ford F150 Lariat with the 3.5 Eco Boost. I must admit that I was skeptical with the statistic of 92% airflow increase. Best case scenario (at sea level) with all conditions being ideal, this unit is said to increase power by up to 32 HP and the attendant torque. While I can not attest to the actual number without a dyno test, what I will say is that my truck makes better use of the torque, upshifting at speeds and RMP's where it formerly would stay in a lower gear. I don't beat on my truck so while the acceleration seems quicker, again, only a dyno would tell the whole picture. Speaking of dyno tests, AFE has done that homework and at this point, I am a believer.
The other BIG gain is found in improved economy. With all the hills in my region, the best I got with a feather touch at all times on the gas pedal was 13.2 MPG. This morning after several days of city driving and 92 miles on the odometer with mid-grade fuel, she was reading 16.2 MPG. Do the math! Speaking of math, I did some calculations and deduced that the unit will have paid for itself in under 18 months. At the price of fuel, I've calculated that I am saving about $20 per 36 gallon tank full.
Other benefits include less hesitation when pulling out and that cool faint whistling sound that turbos make when spooling up. All-in-all, I am highly satisfied with my purchase and would certainly recommend this particular unit to anyone running the same motor.
