aFe is proud to introduce the Takeda Retain Intake System for the 2010-2014 Subaru Outback and Legacy with the flat-6 3.6L engine. This Takeda Retain intake system produces up to 15HP and 14lbs. x ft. of torque over stock, while outflowing the factory intake by 15%. This intake uses a large 360 degree high flow Pro DRY S air filter for maximum flow, filtration and convenience. The Pro DRY S air filter requires no oils and cleans with simple soap and water. A highly engineered one-piece powder coated housing attaches to a portion of the factory airbox to protect the filter from unwanted hot engine air for maximum performance. Takeda intakes come complete with all necessary hardware.
Tuned Intake Tube:
A dyno-tuned polished intake tube is used to smoothly direct the airflow into the engine with minimal restrictionFactory Mounting Locations:
The use of factory mounting locations ensure a quality fit while maintaining a simple, hassle-free installation.Sealed Housing:
Included in this kit is a wrinkle-black powder coated housing that utilizes a portion of the factory airbox to make a totally sealed housing to protect the filter from unwanted hot engine air for maximum performance.Silicone Coupling:
A reinforced silicone coupling is used to connect the tube to the throttle body and housing for strength and durability.3-Angle Filter Adapter:
A injection molded 3-angle adapter is used to smoothly direct the air from the filter to the tube to increase air velocity and reduce turbulence.Emissions Disclaimer:

Subarun 2019 Outback 3.6r Cold Air Intake (CAI)
Just in case any one is wondering, the aFe TR-4304P Takeda CAI does work/fit on a 2019 3.6r with a noticeable power bump. Only other mod on the car was the rear sway bar.
2019 Outback 3.6r, aFe CAI, no dash light of any sort. engine cover does fit after the CAI install. I did not check mileage as that was not my main concern. Sound level is slightly louder especially when under heavy acceleration, not really noticeable at idle. You can feel the pull when you push on the gas at 60mph and it will continue to pull easily to 80-90.
I am very happy with this mod.
The CAI is not CARB certified for any model > 2014, so you would have to restore to factory for a smog, but as far as fit and function is concern, it works great.
There were a few sharp edges that I had to take my Dermal to smooth out, but in general, pretty easy install. Took about 30 minutes, but I am handy around cars, so YMMV. The hardest part might be to put on the rubber trim for the CAI and keep it there while mating it back to the front of the airbox.
Did not have any issue with the length of the EGR tube and the clearance was fine within the engine bay.
